1982-today Co-leader of the Institute for Person
Centred Expressive Therapy, Norway/USA.
Together with Dr. Natalie Rogers, coined the concept Person-Centred
Expressive Therapy (PCET),
and initiated an institute to provide workshops, seminars and learning
programs. Person Centred Expressive Therapy is considered a new
offshoot of the Person-Centred approach, which is a school of psychology
focusing on transparency, congruence and empathy as the condition
for positive change of behaviour in human relationships. PCET combines
this client centred approach of Carl Rogers with the different kind
of expressive therapeutic approaches. Activities of the Norwegian
branch has involved development and implementation of a 2 year international
training program for professionals in Person Centred Expressive
Therapy, which was credited at the University of California as well
as a number of workshops and training programs.

Building in Russian Working Life
Together with Ragnar Næss I have been responsible for planning
and implementation of diverse programmes focusing on transfer and
implementation of sustainable democratic processes and consultancy
competence to Working Life in St. Petersburg, Russia. The training
programme, apart from having a theory curriculum and supervisory
aspects, includes extensive fieldwork in firms and institutions
focusing on communicative skills and infrastructure, as well as
network and co-operation between affiliated institutions, firms
and parties. The project has been financed mainly by The Norwegian
Department of Foreign Affairs. It has involved various networking
and human resources development work in some 30 firms and institutions.
Focus has been on:
" Training and supervision of a number of project
workers in HRM. In collaboration with them, we have implemented
democracy processes in 33 firms and institutions ranging from former
state combinates to newly formed private businesses as well as public
institutions. Today they are actively applying HRM approaches and
methodology in political work, as consultants with their own portfolio,
or as Human Resources Managers.
" Seminars, lectures and workshops in academic
forums and trade unions, for firm managers and municipal representatives.
" Training programme for 12 work psychologists,
at the St. Petersburg Department for Employment of the Population,
with focus on implementation of democratic structures and processes
in the administration and local offices, as well as in firms and
companies where they operate.
" In co-operation with The Committee for Labor
and Social Environment, St. Petersburg, we have initiated training
programs for 12 trade union leaders focusing on networking, conflict
resolution between the parties, and initiation of democracy Processes
